The Israeli Winner League semifinal between Hapoel Vegan Friendly Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem on May 31st had an ugly incident at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The fan responsible for it now got punished.

With 8:27 remaining in the game, Tel Aviv's Xavier Munford scored an and-one fast-break layup. After the basket, he approached Jerusalem's fans. The guard apparently said something that provoked the local supporters.

As the referee Amit Black was trying to calm things down while instructing the player to leave the area, he got hit with a lighter that was flying from the stands.

"The team apologizes from the bottom of its heart to referee Amit Black who was hit by an object thrown in his direction," the team said immediately after the game.

It is now clear that the fan responsible for the incident has been banned for a year from attending Jerusalem's games.

Tel Aviv won the series 2-0 and advanced to the final where they ultimately lost 1-2 to Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.
