Italy will play 7 preparation games ahead of FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, facing some solid competition.

Italy will begin its training camp on July 24, which will last until August 2, before the friendly games start.

Italy will finish its preparation for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup with two games against Brazil (August 20) and New Zealand (August 21).

Itay will also face such basketball powerhouses as Greece, Serbia, and Turkey.

During the FIBA Basketball World Cup, Italy will play in Group A in Manila, Philippines, and face Angola, the Dominican Republic, and the Philippines.

If Italy advances to the Second Round, it will meet teams from Group B, consisting of South Sudan, Serbia, China, and Puerto Rico.

It's still unclear whether the Orlando Magic young star Paolo Banchero will commit to Italy. In recent months, a positive mood before the 2022-23 season evaporated as the 20-year-old is also being recruited by Team USA.

FIBA Basketball World Cup will take place in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia from August 25th to September 10th and will be hosted by three nations for the first time.
