The club from Mali Kalemegdan secured participation in the competition through a wild card, for which they paid €500,000.
All that remains is for the decision to be officially confirmed by the EuroLeague. The league will announce the list of participants for the next season on June 29, as they previously announced. The only decision, which still hasn't been made, is whether Valencia Basket will remain in the elite, or whether Turk Telekom will take its place.
As a reminder, Partizan secured a place in the EuroLeague as the winner of the ABA League, while Zvezda's issue seems to have been resolved in the same way as Partizan had settled it last year -- by paying €500,000 as well.
Crvena Zvezda finished the season by winning two trophies in the Radivoj Korac Cup and the Serbian Super League, while they were left without a title in the ABA League due to the loss to Partizan in the finals (2-3). On the occasion of the whole season, the club has issued a new announcement.
"There has been great interest and the club has made a transparent business that has become a standard for everyone in the region," the announcement reads at some point.
"For the first time, Argentinians played for our club. Wherever we played, not a single incident on or off the court was related to the players of our club. We visited schools, engaged in social humanitarian work, we are again in contention for the Best Marketing award in the EuroLeague, and we also signed the largest sponsorship contract for the title sponsorship in the history of Serbian basketball," Zvezda note.
"That's why we can happily conclude that the season was successful, with the desire to be even better and even stronger in the next one. Because 5 out of 6 trophies in the last two seasons, and a total of 24 in the last 11 years oblige us to maintain a high level and justify expectations.
The new season officially starts on July 1. By the time we playh our first match in October, we will be ready to answer all challenges, which are always great when it comes to our club, as well as the expectations," the club's announcement concludes.
