Harden has until June 29 to pick up his $35.6 million player option for the 2023-24 season. However, the 33-year-old is expected to decline his option and sign a longer-term deal.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the 76ers are determined to re-sign Harden. Philadelphia has full Bird rights for Harden, so they can offer him up to a 4-year max deal, starting at $47.6 million next season.
However, Wojnarowski reports that Harden may have to take less than the max from the Sixers.
Last season, Harden averaged 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 10.7 assists per game in 58 appearances for the 76ers.
