Victor Wembanyama had 30 points,6 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 blocks to lead the San Antonio Spurs toa 118-105 win over the Portland Trail Blazers and rookie rivalScoot Henderson.
The No. 1 overall pick in thisyear’s draft had this impressive statline in just 25 minutes,becoming just the second rookie since David Robinson in 1990 torecord the same numbers.
This was Wemby and Scoot’s firstmeeting since their memorable matchup in the Metropolitans 92 vs. NBA G League Igniteseries last October in LasVegas, where Wembanyama and Henderson scored 37 points and 28points, respectively, with the latter taking thevictory.
The Spurs secured their fifthwin of the season, while Henderson scored a career-high 25 pointsin a rare start without Anfernee Simons and Shaedon Sharpe, as theBlazers dropped to 8-22. Both teams are currently last in theWestern Conference.
