The contract includes a player option, Woj adds.
After the trade, Russell managed to play in 17 games with the Lakers last season, averaging 17.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists for the team.
The former 2nd overall pick was named an All-Star back in 2019 when he represented the Brooklyn Nets. Before joining the Lakers, he played for three seasons for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Since the free agency started on June 30th, the Lakers have added Taurean Prince, Gabe Vincent, Rui Hachimura, Cam Reddish, and Jaxson Hayes to the roster.
