Beverley started last year playing for the Los Angeles Lakers but was traded in February to the Orlando Magic. He agreed on a contract buyout and was subsequently waived after not logging a single minute for his new club.
Two weeks later, Beverley signed a deal with the Chicago Bulls, where he finished the season. In 67 games last season, Beverley averaged 6.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game.
So far in free agency, the 76ers lost Georges Niang to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Shake Milton to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
