The Los Angeles Lakers are hiring DeMarre Carroll as an assistant coach on Darvin Ham's staff, Dave McMenamin from ESPN reports.

Carroll was working for the Milwaukee Bucks last season with Mike Budenholzer.

Carroll retired after the 2019-20 season, he was the best known for his days with the Atlanta Hawks.

Ham, Carroll, and Budenholzer were all in Atlanta together when the Hawks went 60-22 with Carroll as the starting small forward and was No. 1 in the East.

Throughout his career, Carroll averaged 8.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game over 578 appearances.
