When their favorite club came back home with the series tied 1-1, they welcomed the visiting players by trying to interrupt their matchday routine as much as possible.
"Going to Maccabi and playing in that atmosphere? Wild," Donta Hall recalled in a mini-documentary by Monaco Info.
John Brown III talked in more detail about how Maccabi supporters acted before Game 3 of the playoffs.
"It was very chaotic. It started in my DMs, they notified me. A lot of those fans, probably five hundred or a thousand, notified me of what was going to happen - 'We're going to meet you behind the gym, we're going to do this, we're going to do that'," Brown began.
"Of course, I'm thinking 'Some people are going to be out there, it's going to be a little light there'. We pulled up to this arena, all these people [were] blocking the bus, spitting on the bus, throwing stuff at the bus, shooting birds, even the children were shooting birds," the forward shared. "I'd never seen anything like this."
After Games 3 and 4, extra measures were taken by the Monegasque authorities to ensure safety in Game 5 in Salle Gaston Medecin. The home team won the series 3-2. Wade Baldwin IV later admitted that the Game 5 loss was the most difficult moment in the season.
