After having made Bruno Mascolo's signing official and essentially sealed Achille Polonara's deal, the Italian side is close to another player. This is power forward/center Devontae Cacok, who split last year between the G-League and CSKA Moscow.

Cacok, who has American-Jamaican roots, is 26. He reportedly paid his CSKA buyout out of his own pocket. His name was first brought up for Virtus by Repubblica Bologna, and now the two sides seem very close, multiple sources confirm to BasketNews.

The Chicago-born Cacok played 21 games with the Lakers between 2019 and 2021 (one start) and 15 with the Spurs in 2021-22. Cacok played in two preseason games for the Trail Blazers at the beginning of the 2022-23 campaign and averaged 3.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in 9.0 minutes per game.

With CSKA, he averaged 9.6 points, 5.6 rebounds in 20 VTB League games and 17 minutes per contest. However, he shot free throws at just 45.1%.
