Baskonia state that the player's rights in Europe belong to them as it was agreed with the player during the previous contract that was signed before Vildoza left for the NBA. The club wasn't opposed to his move to Crvena Zvezda but believes that it should've been compensated for it.
"Everything is clear: there is a signed contract with obvious conditions. It's not possible that you sign a contract with some conditions so that I let you go, and now, because you're not interested, you won't pay that money, which is two million euros," the club's president Jose Antonio Querejeta told El Correo last season.
In a recent press conference with the local media, Baskonia's sports director Felix Fernandez revealed that the court date is now clear - October 27th.
Baskonia believe that Vildoza's return to Europe wasn't coordinated with the club and consider it to be a serious breach of the agreement with the player.
