After leaving Olympiacos Piraeus on bad terms, Kostas Sloukas is about to join the rival camp.

According to Giorgos Kouvaris from Gazzetta.gr, the Greek guard has reached an agreement with Panathinaikos Athens.

The deal is worth reportedly worth €9 million over three years, Kouvaris notes.

Sloukas previously left Olympiacos over a dispute with head coach Georgios Bartzokas over his role on the team. Multiple reports indicated that financial compensation was not the primary driving force behind the split.

Last year in the EuroLeague, Sloukas averaged 11.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 5.6 assists for 14.7 PIR, starting in only one game in the last two seasons for Olympiacos.

The deal is said to be already done and only the official announcements remain, Kouvaris writes. It's a surprising turn of events with Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade and Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul having previously been mentioned as the two top destinations for Sloukas.

After a lackluster 2022-23 season, Panathinaikos signed Luca Vildoza, Mathias Lessort, and Konstantinos Mitoglou as three main players this offseason.
