Now, as ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported, the Georgia team has sent him to the OKC Thunder in a different trade.
The Spanish international will arrive in OKC alongside TyTy Washington, Rudy Gay and a second-round pick for Patty Mills in a move that saves the Hawks $4.5 million in salary cap space.
The former Real Madrid player has a guaranteed contract for next season worth $2.5 million and now it will be the Thunder who will decide if they extend their relationship.
Just a week ago, the Houston Rockets had sent Garuba to Atlanta in a transfer in which TyTy Washington was also involved and whose objective was also to create salary space on their roster. For Patty Mills, this is the third exchange in a ten-day period.
