He will receive around 3 million euros for the next three seasons with the green-and-whites.
"Never turn your back on Family… Even when they do..," his now-former teammate Shaquielle McKissic tweeted.
Olympiacos legend Georgios Printezis was more subtle with his response.
"Each person is an adult, he makes his own decisions, we're not all the same," Printezis told the media during his annual Aegeanball Festival. "Everyone thinks and deals with situations as he thinks is best for him, his family, his ego, and for what he thinks he can do."
"Kostas made a decision that he thought about and discussed with his family. Everyone does what they think is best for them. The move by Panathinaikos to get Sloukas helps them a lot," he continued. "The team acquired a player-winner, who has many participations in the [EuroLeague] Final Four."
Sloukas will now join Luca Vildoza in the Panathinaikos backcourt. The club has already signed Mathias Lessort, Konstantinos Mitoglou, Kostas Antetokounmpo, and Dimitris Moraitis to the roster. Panathinaikos are also interested in acquiring Nikola Mirotic.
