In an 80-85 loss against the Portland Trail Blazer, the No. 1 pick finished the game with 27 points (7/10 2PT, 2/4 3PT, 7/12 FT), 12 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal, and 3 turnovers.

After the game, the San Antonio Spurs rookie admitted he's going to spend the upcoming months resting and preparing for his debut NBA season.

"I will talk to Pop and listen to what he's going to say, but I'm ready to make any sacrifice for the team," Wembanyama said. "I need to sit down with him to know what the next months are going to be like."

The 19-year-old also added that not playing in the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup will work in his favor.

"When to go on vacation, when to start working out again, where I'm going practice. [Will] it be in San Antonio or somewhere else. As I'm not playing in the World Cup, I have 2-3 great months. They will change my life. I will probably disappear from the media for the next months, honestly," Wembanyama added.
