John Brown III and AS Monaco had an option to terminate the contract this summer.

John Brown III has committed to staying in Monaco for one more season, sources tell BasketNews.

While his original contract was initially set to expire in 2024, both Brown and Monaco had the option to terminate the agreement in 2023.

However, both parties have decided to forego this possibility, and Brown has committed to continue playing for the Roca Team for another season.

The club officially confirmed the news after the BasketNews report.

"I chose to stay in Monaco because I find players that I consider brothers, who have decided to continue the adventure too," John Brown was quoted in an official press release. "We have formed a united group, even in difficulty.The year that ended was exceptional, and we achieved something great for the club.But I know that we can improve and do even better.The ambition that should guide us next season is always wanting to progress after each game."

During the 2022-23 EuroLeague season, a 31-year-old American has averaged 5.4 points, 3.5 rebounds (2.1 offensive rebounds), 1.1 steals, and a performance index rating of 6.5 in 22 minutes per game.

2.03 Brown finished the season ranked 5th in total steals and 6th in total offensive rebounds.

In the French league, the big man averaged 5.1 points, 2.8 rebounds (1.7 offensive rebounds), and 1.1 steals in 20 minutes of play.
