After spending one season with Partizan, Ioannis Papapetrou is back at OAKA on a two-year deal.

Ioannis Papapetrou's return toPanathinaikos Athens was officialized by the Greek club, as the international forward has signed a two-year contract with the Greens.

A few days ago, Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos shared a story on Instagram, where Papapetrou wears the Greens jersey alongside Mathias Lessort, Kostas Antetokounmpo, Luca Vildoza, Kostas Sloukas, Jerian Grant, Dinos Mitoglou, and Dimitris Moraitis.

"8 done, 4 to go," Giannakopoulos wrote a short message.

On Monday, SDNA reported that Panathinaikosoffered a 2-year deal worth around €1.5 million to Papapetrou.

Last season, the 29-year-old forward averaged 5.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 5.1 PIR per game over 38 EuroLeague games for Partizan.

Papapetrou started his pro career at Olympiacos in 2013. With the Reds, he won two Greek championships (2015 and 2016) and one Intercontinental Cup (2013). In the 2017-18 season, his last in Piraeus, he averaged 6.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per EuroLeague contest, while logging 8.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in the Greek league.

In the summer of 2018 he signed a contract with Panathinaikos where he played until 2022, winning 3 Greek Championships (2019, 2020, 2021), 2 cups (2019, 2021) and 1 Super Cup (2021).

In the 2021-2022 season he averaged 12 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists on average in the EuroLeague and 12.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in the Greek league.

"I'm so happy to be back with my family," Papapetrou told the club's official website.

"There is great enthusiasm and huge motivation on my part. I don't want to say too much now, the rest will be said on the court.

I would like to thank Mr. Dimitris Giannakopoulos, the Panathinaikos organization and the fans for the love they show towards me. See you at OAKA," the player said.
