Mexico announces extended candidate list for 2023 FIBA World Cup / News - Basketnews.com

The list is mostly comprised of players that competed in the Mexican League last year.

With more than a month left until the start of the 2023 FIBA World Cup, the Mexican Basketball Federation (ADEMEBA) announced the 24-man extended list of candidates for the final roster.

The list is mostly comprised of players that competed in the Mexican League last year. Six candidates played either for the Capitanes team in the G-League or NCAA last season.

This month, the team will compete in five friendly matches, ADEMEBA announced. Firstly, three games against the Dominican Republic (July 14, July 19, and July 22) will start off the preparation for the World Cup. Then, Mexico will play two matches against Colombia (July 26, July 29).

Mexico will compete in Group D in the World Cup together with Lithuania, Egypt, and Montenegro.
