Josh Nebo's and Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv had signed a 1+1 deal in the summer of 2022, which allowed the Israeli champs to decide whether to renew it or opt out.

Even though speculations about where the American-born big man might end up next had started to surface, the club opted in and thus Nebo will have another year with Maccabi.

Nebo, who turned 26 on July 26, produced 7.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per Winner League outing, whilst averaging 7.3 points and 6.1 rebounds in less than 22 minutes of playing time in the EuroLeague.

He had previously played in Israel for Hapoel Eilat and later made his EuroLeague debut with Zalgiris Kaunas in 2021-22.

Born in Houston, Texas, Nebo also played football when he was young, but then focused on basketball and went to Pennsylvania. In July 2020, he was signed by Hapoel Eilat, where he immediately displayed his skills. He posted 13.6 points (67% on two-point shots), 10.0 rebounds (first in the league), 1.1 blocks and 21.8 efficiency points per game.

In his Euroleague debut season with Zalgiris Kaunas, Nebo started in 17 of 28 games in which he took part and contributed 8.8 points (65% for two, ranked 12th in the factory) and 6.2 rebounds (6th place) in 22 minutes on average per evening.

He won the Lithuanian Cup and provided 7.0 points on 68% from the field, 5.1 rebounds and a block per game.
