In the program 'Bastis Corner' by former Bayreuth player Bastian Doreth. Ulm captain Thomas Klepeisz revealed interesting details about the case.
"What we know is that he has failed to comply with these reporting obligations. Unfortunately, this is Karim, how he lives, he's just such a scattered guy," Klepeisz, 31, said, according to BILD.
"It can happen that you write him a message and don't hear from him for three months and that you call him twice and he doesn't answer. Sometimes, he's just sometimes unreachable or impossible to find. It just goes in that direction," he added.
The Austrian player stressed that he has discussed the issue with Jallow himself, to no avail.
"I've told him, 'I wrote to you two days ago, just answer.' He's just a distracted guy. So, if that was ever to happen to anyone, it's him.“
Due to his experience playing for the German national team, Jallow belongs to a category of players that have to report their whereabouts at all times on the specialized Adams (Anti-Doping Administration and Management System) app so that anti-doping control officers can test the athlete unannounced at any time.
Players have to provide a 60-minute window between 6 AM and 11 AM each day, during which they can be contacted for a doping check-up. Vacations, practices, games, and training camps are also recorded on the app, BILD writes.
Klepeisz said he's not an expert in the field because as an Austrian player he never had to report for anti-doping control.
"I think it's exaggerated that they have to be available every day," he commented.
"I heard that we were on an away game and he left earlier than expected. Then, someone was standing at his door and wanted to test him. It's bitter that it's Karim, because he's just sloppy and has a weakness for such things.
I don't want to take him out of responsibility either. He's f---ed up, he knows that too," Ulm's captain concluded.
