Credit: FIBA Credit FIBAVenezuela booked a surprise ticket to the 2023 FIBA World Cup over Argentina in the Qualifiers. The country's federation has now presented an extended list of candidates for the upcoming tournament.
The list features the names of 21 players, most of which compete in the local Venezuelan league. As the federation notes, the team's coaching staff will be able to add competitors to the list as the maximum number of candidates is 24.
Venezuela will play five friendly games before the World Cup. First, they will compete against Spain on August 4th, followed by matches versus France (August 7th), Australia (August 14th), South Sudan (August 16th), and Brazil (August 17th).
Venezuela will compete in Group F in the World Cup together with Slovenia, Georgia, and Cabo Verde.
