"Regarding what has emerged concerning Toko Shengelia's position, we believe it is appropriate to clarify that the player is not on the market and his transfer has never been negotiated with other clubs," Baraldi said. "We confirm that Toko, in relation to the existing contract, will be part of the Virtus Segafredo Bologna roster in the next season."
Baraldi thus denied the recent SDNA report that Shengelia accepted the offer from Panathinaikos Athens and that both the Georgian big man and Virtus are looking for ways to terminate the current deal, which runs through 2024 and has an option for another season.
In 23 EuroLeague games last season, Shengelia averaged 9.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists for 11.5 PIR.
