Alex Poythress won't continue with Maccabi for another season, as the Israeli club decided to opt out of his contract.

Due to an injury, the American-Ivorian big man only played in 16 EuroLeague games. In the 2022-23 EuroLeague season, Poythress averaged 22 minutes per game scoring 7.8 points, grabbing 3.6 rebounds, and a performance index rating of 7.4.
Poythress averaged 10.6 points (72.4% 2P) and 5.2 rebounds in just 20.4 minutes per game, helping Maccabi secure the Israeli league title.
