Janis Strelnieks was excluded from the preliminary roster due to his ongoing recovery from an Achilles injury back in March.

The Latvian national team will compete in the 2023 FIBA World Cup for the first time in the country's history.

One month before the start of the competition, the Latvian Federation announced a revamped extended list of candidates following the first cuts.

Boston Celtics star center Kristaps Porzingis headlines the list alongside his NBA compatriot Davis Bertans. EuroLeague's Rolands Smits and Arturs Kurucs are also included on the list.

Most of the players last played for teams in Spain, Lithuania, Poland, and Italy.

Latvia will compete in Group H in the World Cup together with Canada, Lebanon, and France.
