With a month left until the competition, an extended list of candidates for the final roster has been announced.

When the Dominican Republic Basketball Federation's (FEDOMBAL) president Rafael Uribe was asked what the chances of Towns playing for the country in the 2023 FIBA World Cup are, the answer was 90%.
"There's a mutual interest [between Towns and the federation], and we exchange messages on the phone every day," he told radio show Diamante Deportivo.
If Towns plays in the World Cup, it will be the first time in 10 years after he last wore the jersey of his home country.
