Rivero is nearing a 1+1 deal with Maccabi after the club's negotiations with Frank Kaminsky and Noah Vonleh fell through due to salary disagreements.

According to Arel Ginsber from Israel Hayom, the Israeli club is finalizing a deal with Jasiel Rivero.

The Cuban big man played for Valencia Basket last season, averaging 9.4 points and 3.5 rebounds for 9.2 PIR. His stats were better in the Spanish Liga Endesa - 11.7 points and 4.2 rebounds for 14.4 PIR.

Negotiations with Rivero progressed quicker and more smoothly than with other candidates. Although there was interest in Noah Vonleh and Frank Kaminsky, as previously reported, the negotiations fell through due to disagreements about the player's salary, Ginsber notes.

Rivero is nearing a 1+1 deal, the journalist adds.

If the contract is signed, Rivero will become the fourth Maccabi addition this offseason after Tamir Blatt, James Webb III, and Antonius Cleveland.
