Vucic confirmed that both Partizan and Crvena Zvezda are being financed from the state's budget and pushed back against the notion that he is usually to blame by the camp of a rival team whenever something good happens to the other club.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, is known for his public appearances on TV shows and other media outlets. This time, he again talked about the two Serbian basketball clubs - Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade and Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade.

In an extensive interview on TV Prva's show Jutro, Vucic expanded on the idea that he's to blame whenever something bad happens to a group of people, a perk that comes with being the leader of a country like Serbia.

"You are blamed for everything," he began. "You are blamed for the supercell storm, you are blamed for the African plague in our pigs, you are blamed for the rain and the sun, you are blamed when Partizan takes the ABA League title, you are blamed when Zvezda takes the title. You are blamed for everything that happens to everyone and are not indebted to anyone."

"You do not deserve it. Even though you finance Zvezda and Partizan, they are not financed because they are very smart but because the state finances them," the President said. "Both of them will play in the Final Four because they have the teams for that. When was that [last] possible?"

After admitting that the state helps both Partizan and Crvena Zvezda, Vucic questioned the notion that it's an unusual or even unacceptable thing.

"Years ago, they said that they were financing Cibona in Zagreb with one million euros, now let's see how many times more millions of euros we are financing than Zagreb or Athens did before... or I don't know who. I just want to say that whatever something good happens [for some groups], there must always be a culprit [found by the others]. The easiest thing is to [always] be the one [to blame] and be dehumanized," he concluded.
