Slovenia announced the extended roster for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.

The extended roster has 15 names in it, including Luka Doncic, Vlatko Cancar, Klemen Prepelic, Mike Tobey, and others.

After a 91-98 loss against Greece in a friendly game in Ljubljana, Slovenia's head coach Aleksander Sekulic cut Sasa Ciani.

"We thanked Sasa Ciani, so we are traveling to Athens with 14 players," Aleksander Sekulic said after the match with Greece.

Slovenia will travel with 14 players because Tobey didn't join the team yet.

The 31-year-old forward Jordan Morgan is also included in the list, meaning that Slovenia's head coach Aleksander Sekulic would have to choose either Morgan or Tobey, as FIBA rules do not allow to have two naturalized players on the roster.

Slovenia will play in Group F in Okinawa, Japan, and face Cape Verde, Georgia, and Venezuela.

If Slovenia advances to the Second Round, it will meet teams from Group E, which consists of Germany, Finland, Australia, and the host nation Japan.

FIBA Basketball World Cup will take place in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia from August 25th to September 10th and will be hosted by three nations for the first time.
