However, this number will be much smaller in Davis' bank account. Andrew Petcash broke down Davis' salary, which will be much smaller after the taxes.
Breakdown of Anthony Davis' $62 million yearly salary:
$22.9 million Federal Tax $6 million NBA Escrow $4.1 million California State Tax $1.8 million Jock Tax $1.4 million FICA/Medicare.That would leave Davis with $24 million in his pocket. However, the Sacramento Kings point guard De'Aaron Fox also put his view, adding that players get the NBA Escrow back in 9 out of 10 cases.
So, in the best-case scenario, Davis would net $30 million.
Last season, Davis averaged 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game in 56 appearances for the Lakers.
Davis joined the Lakers in 2019 after a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans. Since then, Davis became a champion with the Lakers in 2020.
He was also named an NBA All-Star in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.
Throughout his career as a Laker, Davis averages 24.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game in 194 appearances for the team.
