Beno Udrih has landed his first head coaching gig with the Wisconsin Herd in the NBA development league.
Credit: Kaunas.lt Credit Kaunas.ltAfter playing his last game more than five years ago, former Slovenian international and two-time NBA champion Beno Udrih opens his third coaching chapter. This time in the development league, where he will lead the Wisconsin Herd, Milwaukee Bucks' affiliate team.
Udrih last played for Zalgiris Kaunas in 2018, before becoming an assistant coach in the development team of the Westchester Knicks, and most recently he was a member of staff at the New Orleans Pelicans.
In the new season, he will turn the page and work as a head coach for the first time. The former Slovenian, 41, has played with Olimpija Ljubljana, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Olimpia Milano, and Saratov.
In the NBA, he won two championship titles with the San Antonio Spurs, but also wore the jerseys of Sacramento, Orlando, Milwaukee, Miami, New York, Detroit and Memphis.
He registered 13 seasons in the world's top league, which is why he settled in the USA after his playing career. He also received American citizenship some years ago.
