Suns acquire Royce O’Neale, David Roddy in three-team trade
The Phoenix Suns have acquiredforwards Royce O’Neale and David Roddy in a three-team trade withthe Brooklyn Nets and Memphis Grizzlies, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Brooklyn sent O’Neale to Phoenixfor three second-round picks while Memphis ships Roddy to Phoenixfor a pick swap. In return, the Grizzlies will get Yuta Watanabefrom the Suns as well as three other minimum-salary players:Keita Bates-Diop, Jordan Goodwinand Chimezie Metu.
The Suns retain assets afterthis three-team deal for O'Neale and Roddy -- including asecond-rounder and pick swaps. Additionally, Phoenix now has tworoster spots open to pursue additions on the buyoutmarket.
O’Neale and Roddy are two bigwings who will fortify the Suns' playoff rotation. O’Neale, 30, isaveraging 7.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 49 games thisseason. Roddy, 22, is averaging 8.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in 48games this season.
