With Ricky Rubio putting a stop to his basketball career, head coach Sergio Scariolo had to call up Juan Nunez to replace him. Several days into the preparation camp, Sergio Llull is now dealing with an injury.
The veteran point guard hasn't practiced so far as he is dealing with ankle discomfort. In photos published by the Spanish Basketball Federation, Llull was recently seen working on a stationary bike during practices.
"Ricky's loss was a big hit," Scariolo told the media on Thursday. "We have to get over i, we have to leave him be without hesitating to help Ricky with whatever he needs."
"He will not play these days, he will be resting," Scariolo said about Llull.
Spain will face off against Slovenia and the USA in two friendly games in Malaga, Spain on August 11th and August 13th respectively.
So far, Juan Nunez remains the only true point guard on the roster after it was declared in early July that Lorenzo Brown would miss the World Cup.
