Beverley was traded to the Bucksin exchange for Cam Payne and a second-round pick. Beverley firstannounced the news on his podcast’s X account.
According to Beverley, DarylMorey told him that he wouldn’t be traded. Fans have already voicedtheir frustration over the departure of Beverley, who was viewed asa perfect fit in Philly.
Springer was dealt in alast-minute deal with the Celtics in exchange for a second-roundpick. Much like Beverley, fans were devastated to see him go.Boston got themselves an athlete with a very strong defensive mindfor a very low price.
Neither of these trades makemuch sense for the 76ers, but the Celtics and Bucks both walkedaway with very solid players. The Sixers were expected topotentially make another splashy addition such as Chicago Bulls bigman Andre Drummond, but they settled on Payne and BuddyHield.
