Ivan Corovic, former captain of the junior team of Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade, passed away at the age of 26, after struggling with cancer for a long time.

Corovic was one of the most talented Montenegrin basketball players, but he had to stop his career due to a tumor on his leg, which was eventually amputated in 2020

He never joined Zvezda's first team, but was the captain of the junior squad. The talented shooting guard then defended the colors of FMP, playing alongside Serbian national team players Borisa Simanic and Aleksa Radanov.

"Corovic played in the cadet and junior selection of KK Crvena Zvezda, he reached two EuroLeague finals in Madrid and Berlin," the club's press release reads.

"Just one year later, Ivan's battle with a dangerous disease began, which forced him to end his promising basketball career. Our Ivan lost this game, fighting the way he played basketball, not complaining about anything - until the very end."

His funeral will be held on August 13 in Savnik, Montenegro.
