Kyle Lowry will sign with Philadelphia 76ers after buyout
After getting bought out by the Charlotte Hornets, Kyle Lowrywill sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
This was the most likely scenario for the Philadelphia native,as our Hunter Simpson noted rightafter the NBA trade deadline passed on Thursday:
"Lowry is a Philly native and themost likely option if he were to be bought out. He would be aslight upgrade over Patrick Beverley, who was dealt to theMilwaukee Bucks (although he wouldn't match Beverley's energy).
"While he hasn’t officially beenbought out by the Charlotte Hornets yet, he is expected to be.Averaging just over 8 points per game, Lowry would be used as theteam's primary backup point guard."
Lowry, 37, is a six-time NBA All-Star who won a championshipwith the Toronto Raptors in 2019.
