McHale, who was let go by the Rockets during the 2015-16 season after a slow start, claimed that Harden had premeditated intentions for certain situations.
The 65-year-old went on to suggest that Harden had orchestrated a plan to lead to his firing, particularly recalling an incident where Harden was benched in the fourth quarter of Game 6 against the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2015 Western Conference semifinals.
"The next year, he came to camp, he was fat and didn't feel like playing, and I got fired 11 games into the season. He had a plan," McHale said, via Heavy Sports.
The Boston Celtics legend helmed the Rockets for five seasons, amassing a record of 193 wins and 130 losses, including a postseason log of 13 wins and 16 losses.
