This unexpected turn of events caught Edwards by surprise, as he hadn't anticipated this rematch to occur so soon.
"Um, I didn't even know we are going to play them (again) in 10 days," Edwards said, viaThe Athletic. "But that's cool. It should be, it should be a better game."
Team USA will meet Greece on Game day 2, August 28. Besides these two powerhouses, the group includes New Zealand and Jordan.
Reflecting on Team USA's recent friendly win, Edwards highlighted the pivotal role of energy in their success.
"Energy. JHart energy, Austin Reeves came in and made great plays, and shout out to Jalen Brunson, man. You know, head of the snake. Didn't get it going until the 4th, and he showed resilience throughout the whole game. That's big time. We need that from our leader," Edwards said.
