Panagiotis Kalaitzakis and Georgios Tsalmpouris were cut from the roster to finalize the Greek national team squad for the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

Two players were cut from the squad as head coach Dimitris Itoudis said goodbye to Panagiotis Kalaitzakis and Georgios Tsalmpouris.
The team won't have its biggest star Giannis Antetokounmpo who withdrew from the national team due to injury. Kostas Sloukas and Nick Calathes will not compete in the World Cup as well.
As such, the team will be led by Thomas Walkup, a naturalized Olympiacos Piraeus point guard. At the same time, Konstantinos Mitoglou comes back after a suspension for his first international participation in almost two years.
Greece will compete in Group C in the World Cup with the USA, Jordan, and New Zealand. The tournament starts on August 25th.
