The big man had diligently adhered to a care regime coordinated between the medical teams of both the French national team and Panathinaikos Athens.
Lessort will join the French NT in Jakarta on Tuesday, August 22. He has not participated in any friendly games due to ankle issues.
Per the same report, head coach Vincent Collet and team GM Boris Diaw thanked Vincent Poirier and Yoan Makoundou, who lent their valuable assistance to the national team during the final two preparation games in Japan.
France's final 12-man roster is spearheaded by none other than NBA star Rudy Gobert. His fellow NBA compatriots Evan Fournier and Nicolas Batum are also included on the roster.
Dallas Mavericks guard Frank Ntilikina was initially selected for the 12-man roster but he will not compete in the World Cup due to an injury he picked up in a friendly gameagainst Lithuania. Ntilikina will be replaced by Isaia Cordinier.
France will play in Group H in the World Cup together with Latvia, Lebanon, and Canada.
