Mike Conley Jr. agrees to a two-year extension with the Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves andstarting point guard Mike Conley Jr. have agreed to a two-yearcontract extension, according to ESPN’s AdrianWojnarowski. The deal isreported to be $21 million, which will take Conley through the2025-2026 season.
ANALYSIS: The36-year-old point guard has been a vital piece to the Timberwolvesthis season, often being the stabilizer that keeps all of theirpieces connected including young stars Anthony Edwards andKarl-Anthony Towns. Minnesota has a 37-13 record this season whenConley plays, and they are just 2-3 when he’s out.
On another note, this all butassures the team will be crossing the second apron. Minnesota hasbeen one of the best teams in the NBA this season, but it has notcome cheap, with contract extensions for Edwards and forward JadenMcDaniels set to kick in next season along with Towns' and RudyGobert’s gargantuan contracts.
