Luka Doncic scored 37 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and dished out 6 assists in his first game in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Luka Doncic put on a show in his first game in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, while Doncic-led Slovenia comfortably beat Venezuela 100-85 (31-33, 25-18, 22-12, 22-22).

Doncic dominated offensively, scoring 37 points on 11-for-18 shooting (2/8 3PT, 13/16 FT) with 7 rebounds and 6 assists in his tally in 31 minutes of play.

The first half was close with Slovenians even losing the first quarter. The underdogs hit 9 three-pointers in the first 10 minutes.

However, the Doncic-led squad put the game to rest in the second half, outscoring Venezuela by 10 in the third quarter and maintaining the lead in the last period.

Naturalized American Mike Tobey was second in scoring with 21 points and 5 rebounds, Klemen Prepelic added 18 points and 5 rebounds.

Garly Sojo was the top scorer on the Venezuelan squad with 16 points.

With the victory, Slovenia get their first win in the tournament and take the lead in Group F.
