Golden State Warriors head coachSteve Kerr has agreed to a two-year, $35 million contract extensionwith the team, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

A four-time champion coach withthe Warriors, Kerr’s extension will make him the highest-paid coachin the history of the NBA. He will surpass the likes of the SanAntonio Spurs Gregg Popovich and recently-extended Erik Spoelstra of the MiamiHeat by making $17.5million a year.

Kerr’s current contract was setto expire by the end of this season and this extension allows himto align with Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, who has two yearsleft on his contract.

ANALYSIS: Thisnew deal more or less guarantees Kerr will ride off into the sunsetwith Curry alongside Draymond Green and possibly Klay Thompson (ifhe signs a new deal in the offseason). The quartet has been one ofthe winningest groups of all-time, winning four championships insix trips to the Finals.

The Warriors have beenrejuvenated since the NBA trade deadline by sticking to what theyhave. Kerr, Curry, Green and Thompson havebeen at the forefront of it all.
