After going scoreless in his FIBA World Cup debut for China, Kyle Anderson, also known as Li Kaier, bounced back in the second game against South Sudan.

However, his efforts were not enough to secure the win against the World Cup debutants, 69-89.

Anderson scored a game-high 22 points (7/14 2PT, 1/2 3PT, 5/8 FT), grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, and collected 19 EFF over 32 minutes of play.

Minnesota Timberwolves forward scored his first points for China with 3:10 minutes into the game and ended the 29-minute drought.

He missed all of his 9 field-goal attempts in the first FIBA World Cup 2023 game vs. Serbia. His plus/minus rating was -35.

With two defeats in as many games, China has very slim chances of advancing to the Second Round. China would be eliminated if Serbia lost to Puerto Rico on Monday.
