Dairis Bertans - the brother of Oklahoma City Thunder's Davis Bertans - got injured and could not continue playing in the second half. The day after the game, the Latvian Basketball Association (LBS) announced the bad news.

Bertans suffered a partial tear of his left hamstring and will miss the remainder of the 2023 FIBA World Cup. The guard is expected to be out for five weeks, LBS said.

The injury occurred with three minutes left in the second quarter. Before exiting the match, Bertans had scored 8 points in 6 minutes. In the first game against Lebanon, he was the top scorer with 20 points in his account.

Having captured a spot in the Second Round, Latvia will play against Canada on Tuesday, August 29th.
