The two have known each other for a while, but since Towns was in Manila playing for his NT, Pacquiao decided to pay him a visit.
The star of the Dominican Republic shared his thoughts about the meeting with Pacquiao in an interview he had with CNN Philippines.
"For sure, it was a great moment, I've known Pac-Man for a while," Towns said during the interview. "I was with him during one of his training camps before a match, I was fortunate to meet him there, seeing how he works, the way he trains. It's been years since then, and now we got this moment to reconnect."
"It was really fun to catch up, we had some great conversations," Towns added. "We talked about his basketball skills and the games he's been playing recently. I mean, he's a legend, he's a legend not only for Filipino sports but worldwide. He's the one and only Manny Pacquiao".
Dominican Republic will now continue its World Cup in Group I with Serbia, Italy, and Puerto Rico.
