In an interview with CNN Philippines, Towns recalled the emotions of that game and what he felt to play in front of such a big crowd.
"It was electric, it's the only word that can fit the description of that arena on that day," Towns explained during the interview. "I knew there was gonna be a lot of people because it's the World Cup, and with the Philippines playing in front of their home crowd, the fans definitely didn't disappoint."
"The atmosphere was absolutely electric, but when you play in a country where the fans feel such a deep connection to this sport, it's not that surprising," Towns continued. "The game was really intense, but in the end, we were able to keep our composure in the most crucial moments, and we were able to get the win."
The Gilas Pilipinas, unfortunately, weren't able to advance to the next round of the World Cup and will now play in the remaining matches that will set the places from 17 to 32.
