Bronny James weighing whether to enter 2024 NBA Draft, says Rich Paul
LeBron James Jr., better knownas Bronny James, is weighing his options and considering whether toenter the 2024 NBA draft, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul toldESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Paul said James’ decision willbe based on specific team interest and not on his draftposition.
“I don't value a young playergetting into the lottery as much as I do getting him on the rightteam in the right developmental situation," Paul toldESPN.
ESPN’s draft experts JonathanGivony and Jeremy Woo recently pulled the younger James from their2024 NBA Mock Draft and moved him to their 2025 NBA MockDraft.
Bronny, a freshman at USC, isaveraging 5.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists on the seasonafter being sidelined for five months due to a cardiac arrest inJuly. His recent play has been encouraging, especially on defense, but he has not looked like a one-and-done prospect. He has oftenlacked assertiveness on offense and he's missed opportunities whenhe’s been on the floor, shooting just under 40% from thefield.
His father LeBron James hasdiscussed the possibility of playing with Bronny, but Paul insiststhat LeBron wants his son "to be his own man." Paul added thatlanding James Jr. would not immediately equate to landing the elderJames in free agency, but that it would be a welcome developmentespecially if it happens "organically."
