Karl-Anthony Towns recorded a dominant double-double, but the Dominican Republic wasted an eight-point fourth-quarter lead and lost to Puerto Rico.

Karl-Anthony Towns was dominant on both sides of the court, but it was not enough for the Dominican Republic to defeat Puerto Rico. The underdogs won by a score of 102-97 (17-12, 28-33, 24-29, 33-23).

The Dominican Republic was leading throughout the majority of the game, but Puerto Ricans made a big run in the fourth quarter.

Tremont Waters had the game of his life for Puerto Rico. He recorded 37 points on 11-for-22 shooting, grabbed 7 rebounds, and dished out 11 assists for a game-leading efficiency score of 43.

Both Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic need to win their last games of the Second Round in order to advance to the quarterfinal stage.
