On Saturday, the games for the 17th-32nd places in the FIBA World Cup 2023 came to a close. This marked the culmination of the Classification Round, distributing several tickets for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In a remarkable debut performance, South Sudan secured the 17th place in the World Cup. The African representatives won in three out of five games, earning themselves a direct ticket to the next year's Olympic Games.

France, on the other hand, had a disappointing campaign and finished in 18th place. Despite also winning three matches, they had already secured a spot in the Olympics as the host nation.

Having established itself as the top team in Asia, Japan maintained its 19th position and is guaranteed a place in the upcoming Olympic Games.

The national teams that secured the 20th-27th places have earned tickets to participate in next year's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments.

Unfortunately, Cape Verde, China, Venezuela, Iran, and Jordan left the FIBA World Cup without anything, neither Olympic nor OQT berth.

Here's the final lineup for the 17th-32nd positions:

20. Egypt (ticket to Olympic Qualifying Tournament)
