Phoenix Suns to sign free agent point guard Isaiah Thomas

Free agent point guard IsaiahThomas is set to return to the NBA as he is expected to sign withthe Phoenix Suns, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

An 11-year NBA veteran andtwo-time NBA all-star, Thomas will return to the league after twoyears as a free agent. He recently signed with the Utah Jazz’sG-League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, where he averaged 33points on 45% shooting across four games.

The 5-foot-9 Thomas, who isexpected to sign a 10-day contract, will provide veteran leadershipand additional depth at the point guard position for theSuns.

The Suns are currently in atight Western Conference playoff race, with a 39-28record.
